Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement
Journal of Mining and Strata Control Engineering is committed to obey the code of ethics at all stages of the publication process. We follow the Guidelines on Good Publication Practice provided by Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), an organization that provides advice and resources on all aspects of publication ethics and research and publication misconduct.
1. Editorial Board
1.1 Our Journal has editorial board and other related governing bodies whose members are recognized experts in the field. The full names and affiliations of the members have been provided on the journal’s web site.
1.2 Our journal has provided contact information for the editorial office on the journal’s web site.
2. Editors' Responsibilities
2.1 The editor-in-chief and editor should preclude business needs from compromising intellectual standards. Editorial Board must evaluate manuscripts only for their intellectual content.
2.2 Editors must ensure the quality of the publish material.
2.3 The editor-in-chief has the authority to make a final decision on the submitted manuscript based on reviewers' and editor's review comments or his/her own discretion.
2.4 The editor-in-chief and editors should be fair and should not use prejudice/bias of any kind against the author during the review process.
2.5 The editor-in-chief and editor's decisions to accept or reject a manuscript for publication should be based only on the paper's importance, originality, and clarity, and the study's relevance to the remit of the journal.
2.6 Editors should not allow any conflicts of interest between staff, authors, and reviewers.
2.7 Anonymity of reviewers as well as the author should be maintained by the EIC and editor during the review process.
2.8 When an error is found, the editor-in-chief should correct it immediately or withdraw the publication.
2.9 Unpublished manuscripts or materials must not be used in an editor's own research
3. Authors' Responsibilities
3.1 The manuscript processing and paper publishing of our journal are free of charge. The author will freely receive two books on which his/her paper is published. The subscription information has been listed in our website.
3.2 Authors must participate in the peer review process and follow the comments.
3.3 The authors must ensure that the manuscript is their original work and does not contain any content that is forged, deceived, or plagiarized. The manuscript submitted does not involve state secrets and does not involve any infringement issues related to intellectual property. If plagiarism is detected during the peer review process, the manuscript will be definitely rejected. If plagiarism is detected after publication, the paper will be retracted.
3.4 Authors must ensure that the manuscript has not previously been published elsewhere, or even submitted and been in reviewed in another journal.
3.5 All authors should make reasonable revisions suggested by reviewers and editors. If the author refuses to make revisions without acceptable causes, the editorial office will have the right to reject the publication.
3.6 All Authors mentioned in the manuscript must have significant contribution to the research. Authors agree to transfer the copyright to ©Journal of Mining and Strata Control Engineering.
3.7 The citations must have clearly identified the source of citations and listed them by reference. The author also should provide the list of references and financial support.
3.8 Authors should retain raw data related to their submitted manuscripts, and must provide it for editorial review, upon request of the editor.
3.9 When authors discover a significant error or inaccuracy in their submitted manuscript, the author must immediately notify the editorial office, and cooperate with the editor to retract or correct the paper.
3.10 Authors must notify the editorial office of any conflicts of interest.
4. Peer-Review Process
4.1 In order to ensure the academic quality of the journal, the editorial board adopts the "three-stage review" system, i.e. initial review by the editor, peer review by relevant experts, and final review by the editor-in-chief. Reviews will be expected to be professional, honest, courteous, prompt, and constructive. The author can visit the website to check the review opinions of each stage.
4.2 All reviewers should be academically qualified to review a submitted manuscript, and they should be fair and unprejudiced and complete her/his review comments in time. The review comments shall be constructive for authors.
4.3 Our journal adopts 'double-blind' peer review, which means the identity of both the author and reviewer is kept hidden. If the authors’ identity is unknown to the reviewer, it will prevent the reviewer from forming any academic bias.
4.4 The reviewer should not have any conflict of interest with the research, author, or the research funding authorities of a submitted manuscript. In case of a conflicting interest, the reviewer should inform the assigned editor of it and the assigned editor will avoid the conflict by reassigning required reviewer(s) to the manuscript.
4.5 The reviewer should not reveal any information related to the assigned manuscript to other parties.
5. Publication Ethics Statement
5.1 Monitoring/safeguarding of the publishing ethics will be maintained by the editor-in-chief and the editorial board. Publishers and editors should take reasonable measures to identify and prevent the publication of papers where research misconduct has occurred. The editor-in-chief should ensure that plagiarism, self-plagiarism, and fraudulent data are not allowed.
5.2 In no case our journal or our editors will encourage such misconduct, or knowingly allow such misconduct to take place.
5.3 In the event that our journal’s publisher or editors are made aware of any allegation of research misconduct, the publisher or editor shall deal with allegations appropriately in time.
5.4 Publishers and editors are always willing to publish corrections, clarifications, withdrawal and apologies as appropriate when needed.
6. Guidelines for Retracting Manuscripts
6.1 The editor-in-chief will contact the author in case of the potential retraction of the manuscript. The manuscript will be considered for retraction in the interest of academic integrity in the following cases:

The manuscript content provides substantial false or unreliable information which cannot be corrected either through fraud or genuine error

manuscript was previously published elsewhere
-
The manuscript plagiarizes previously published information.
6.2 Retracted manuscripts will be removed from the journal’s site and a notice of retraction will be posted on the issue’s table of contents.
6.3 Journal of Mining and Strata Control Engineering abides by COPE Retraction Guidelines.
7. Conflicts of Interest
All authors must disclose any competing and financial interests as well as and personal relationships with other people or organizations that could inappropriately influence their work. If no conflicts exist, the corresponding author must provide this statement on behalf of all authors of the manuscript during the submission process.
8. Copyright and Open Access Policy
8.1 All rights reserved by Journal of Mining and Strata Control Engineering. No content published by our journal may be reproduced or abridged without authorization.
8.2 All articles published represent the opinions of the authors, and do not reflect the official policy of the Journal of Mining and Strata Control Engineering or the editorial board, unless this is clearly specified.
8.3 All articles in the Journal of Mining and Strata Control Engineering can be accessed and downloaded freely on our website.
9. Archiving
9.1 The journal's website will permanently preserve contents published from 2019. If readers find missing papers or inaccessible, please contact us.
9.2 Our journal will make electronic backups and preservation of articles that will not be published. If the manuscript is not to be published, the editorial office will notify the author in time, but the manuscript will not be returned.
10. Handling of Academic Misconducts
10.1 Authors should ensure that the submissions are original works. Editors will scan each submitted manuscript with the help of Academic Misconduct Literature Check System of Science and Technology Periodicals (AMLC) which developed by China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) to verify the originality of submitted manuscripts.
10.2 Treatment of academic manuscripts:
1) This journal will treat the manuscripts that are ultimately identified as academic misconduct in a prudent manner, notify the author in a timely manner, and allow the author to explain and defend the issue before making a decision.
2) If the manuscript has not been accepted, the editorial office will immediately terminate the processing process, make the rejection and give the author a critical education.
3) If the manuscript is in the process of being accepted but not officially published, it will be rejected and the authors will be blacklisted.
4) If the manuscript has been officially published, the editorial office will publish a statement in the journal or its website, to announce repeal of the paper involved and delete all the data related to the paper from all the related databases; and at the same time inform the author, or his research team or institution. The author is required to refund the manuscript fee, and publicly apologize to the journal, and all readers for the infringement and adverse effects of the paper, and assume corresponding responsibilities. The editorial office reserves the right to continue to recover compensation if it causes reputation or other losses to the journal.
5) The manuscripts written by the authors that has serious plagiarism, or multi-submissions will not be accepted within three years.
10.3 Handling of author's objection
If the author disagrees with the identification and handling results, he may submit a written application within 10 working days from the date of receipt of the notice (it will not be accepted after the deadline). The editorial office will invite relevant experts to review the manuscript again, and make the final processing opinion, and inform the author of the final result within 30 working days.
