Guide for Authors
Submission Policy
Original manuscripts are accepted from scientists of any nation, subject to peer review by at least two expert referees. Manuscripts must present scientific results or interpretations that are new and have not been published elsewhere.
The contents of the manuscript shall be the new theories, new methods, new technologies and new achievements of mining engineering, rock mass mechanics and rock strata control engineering, as well as the interdisciplinary fields.
The main achievements should be the authors' independent work. The authors warrant and represent that the manuscript is free from plagiarism, and that there is no dispute over the ordering of authorship. Responsibilities for all disputes arising from copyright shall be borne by the author.
All manuscripts are deemed to have passed the confidentiality review by the employer of the author. The author shall be responsible for any possible disclosure due to publication of the articles.
If the author has not received the notice of adoption, revision or rejection in 2 months after submission, please contact us by e-mail. For the manuscript to be published, the editorial board will timely send the notice of adoption and revision opinions to the author who shall return the revised manuscript, vector diagram and the like to the editorial board within specified time limit. If the manuscript has not been revised and returned within one month without prior agreement, it will be regarded as an automatic waiver. For manuscript not to be published, the editorial board will inform the author of the fact in time without returning the manuscript.
There is no charge for manuscript submitting or article processing. Authors whose manuscript is published will be paid as stipulated and the primary author will be given 2 copies of printed periodicals. Authors can log on the website and download PDFs of all published articles freely.
The editorial board reserves the copyrights of the manuscripts, including but not limited the rights of reproduction, distribution, information network dissemination, translation and compilation. In case of any objection to this agreement, specify it upon submission, and we will handle it at our discretion.
We default that you abide by our rules when submitting manuscript to our journal.
Online Submission
The manuscripts shall be submitted online via the website https://mkkce.cbpt.cnki.net with a covering letter in which the corresponding author’s address, telephone numbers, mobile phone and e-mail address are included.
Electronic submission substantially reduces the editorial processing and reviewing times and shortens overall publication times. Please click on the ‘Author Login’ link in the top left hand of the website and upload all of your manuscript files following the instructions given on the screen.
Manuscript preparations
Manuscripts submitted to our journal should be prepared in accordance with this style guide and forwarded in a single Microsoft Word file. This file must contain all the components of the manuscripts, including the title, abstract and all the remaining sections.
(1) Title
The title should be clear, descriptive and not too long. The length of the title should be no more than 20 characters in Chinese and 200 alphabets in English. Nonstandard symbols and abbreviations, mathematics and chemical formulae should be avoided. If the article has a subhead, you can use ‘:’ to separate it from the main heading. The title shall be bilingual in Chinese and English.
(2) Authors' name and employer
The number of authors should be no more than 10, and the authors shall be separated by commas. Authors from different employers shall be marked with different Arabic numerals in the upper right corner of their names, and numerals that are the same as the serial numbers of author's names shall be added before the names of their employers.
The author's name and the company shall be bilingual in Chinese and English and the name in English must be written in a way that the family name is followed by the first name. The family name shall be written in capital letters while the first letter of the first name shall be in capital.
The affiliation (institution) of the authors should use exact name (both in Chinese and English). The sequence is: affiliation (institution) of the authors, city, zip code, country.
(3) Abstract and key words
The abstract should be concise and informative with a length of about 350-550 words. Don't repeat the information that has been described in the title, neither use the critical language. The abstract should be self-contained and adequate as a summary of the article; namely, it should indicate aim and significance, newly observed facts, conclusions, and the essential parts of any new theory, apparatus, technique, etc. The abstract should not contain literature citations. Define the nonstandard symbols and abbreviations used in the abstract.
There should have 3-8 key words that are helpful for cross-indexing the articles. And it should use full name rather than the abbreviation.
High-quality English abstracts and key words must be provided in the manuscripts.
(4) Fund project
Funded project refers to the funding background of the articles, including funds and projects. If the article has such background, the official name and number of the sponsor fund or project shall be indicated.
(5) Text
The paper should have clear arguments, strict logic, reliable data and full and accurate contents, and provide detailed analysis data and charts. If there are Latin letters, Greek letters or other symbols in foreign language in the text, please indicate the language, capital letter or not, italic or not, subscript or superscript as well as the meaning at their first appearance. The usage of quantities and units in the text shall conform to the national regulatory standards, the formula should be coded continuously, and the symbols appearing in the formula should be annotated.
(6) Drawings and tables
The figures shall be clear and nice-looking, with clear lines and symbols and complete legends. The title of the figures and tables and the words contained in them must be marked in English; tables should be in three-line form, horizontal line can be added when necessary, avoid vertical line in the table; Pictures and forms should be given following their illustration, do not put all of them at the end of the articles.
(7) Footers of the first page
The following information need to be specified: the date of receipt and revision; name and approval number of project supported by the province or higher level; the brief introduction of the first author and corresponding author, including name (year of birth -), gender, nationality, education (degree), title and research direction; title, phone, email, etc.
(8) Conclusions
The summary of the point should be accurate, concise, complete and in order.
(9) References
The references in the journal shall be marked with sequential coding system and there are at least 15 listed references. Chinese references require English translations. Refer to GB/T 7714—2015 for the description format of references.
